Welcome to the OpenSea digest. Let’s look back through the biggest NFT and web3 news of the week.

New Ethereum proposal explores NFTs for improving agent interactions

Ethereum developers have introduced a draft standard called ERC-8004, or Trustless Agents, that would let NFTs serve as simple IDs for computer programs that need to work together.

The system uses three tools: Identity, which gives every program a unique on-chain number; Reputation, which records feedback from past tasks; and Validation, which checks results through re-runs or cryptographic proofs.

With these pieces in place, programs such as artificial intelligence (AI) systems or financial apps could theoretically recognize and safely interact with one another.

Wyoming issues first state-backed stablecoin on multiple blockchains

Wyoming has launched Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), a U.S. dollar–backed digital token issued by the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, a state agency created to oversee the project. It is fully backed by cash and short-term U.S. Treasuries and legally required to be over-collateralized by 2%.

The issuance is being handled by the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, with LayerZero, an omnichain interoperability protocol, facilitating multisite deployment and Franklin Advisers, the investment arm of asset management company Franklin Templeton, overseeing the reserves. Holdings will be audited monthly by The Network Firm, an independent crypto accounting and audit company.

So far, FRNT has gone live across at least seven blockchain networks, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, and Solana. Soon, users will reportedly be able to access the token on Solana through the crypto exchange Kraken, and on Avalanche through Rain, a crypto platform that provides a Visa-linked card.

Yield Guild Games and Pudgy Penguins debut Pengu Wonderland at CoinFest Asia

Southeast Asian gaming collective Yield Guild Games, through its publishing arm YGG Play, and Pudgy Penguins’ Asia community Pengu Asia are rolling out Pengu Wonderland, a new Asia-themed map in the online board game LOL Land

The debut arrived August 21 during CoinFest Asia in Bali, a regional festival where blockchain and NFT projects premiere their latest ideas.

Players will see Pudgy Penguins and Lil Pudgys alongside iconic Asian landmarks like China’s Tiantan, Taiwan’s Taipei 101, and Singapore’s Merlion, which makes the map feel like a playful journey through the region.

Built on Igloo Inc.’s blockchain developer Abstract Chain and powered by its licensing platform OverpassIP, the expansion gives NFT holders a direct path to see their characters come alive inside the game.

Meebits introduces upcycling program

Meebits, the voxel-style NFT collection from MeebCo, has opened the MeebCo Upcycling Beta, a new program running through September 7.

Each day, the team will accept up to one trade through its Meebits app, allowing collectors to bundle multiple Meebits in exchange for a less common piece from the project’s vault.

The aim is to give holders access to rarer traits while reducing the circulating supply and adding NFTs back into the project’s treasury. The beta also serves as a test of Meebits’ upcoming web platform.

Wilder World rolls out shooter mode with $100K tournament at Gamescom

Wilder World, a blockchain-based metaverse project on Ethereum, released on Wednesday the “super early access” release of its shooter game called Wiami during the annual Gamescom conference.

The game is a 10‑player combat battle set in a digital, alternate-reality version of Miami. Both first‑ and third‑person player views are available for gameplay.

To celebrate the game’s release, Wilder World is also hosting a global $100,000 tournament with online qualifiers from August 25 to September 9, plus a live final on September 24 where the top five players will reportedly be flown in, all expenses paid.

This early preview serves as a teaser for Wilder World’s full metaverse launch planned for early 2026, when players can expect to participate in a variety of in-game activities beyond combat, like racing, mining, concerts, and exploration.

Axie Infinity’s Ronin network plans Ethereum return in 2026

Ronin, the gaming-focused blockchain built for Axie Infinity, will migrate back to Ethereum as a layer-two (L2) network by the second quarter of 2026.

The move is designed to expand Ronin’s reach beyond Axie Infinity and make it easier for developers and players to tap into Ethereum’s larger ecosystem.

Sky Mavis, the Vietnam-based studio behind Axie Infinity, said the shift reflects Ethereum’s growing strength with faster speeds, lower fees, and rising institutional adoption.
