Snowfro's 'Heart+Craft' Merges 3D Printing with NFTs

This week, Snowfro and Jordan Lyall, founder of the Arbitrum-based NFT platform Prohibition, unveiled their mesmerizing “Heart+Craft” collection, which merges physical craftsmanship with digital provenance. 

The story starts ten years ago when Snowfro created colorful heart-shaped art installations made with 3D-printed cubes. The intention of his installations then was to spread positivity across public spaces. 

“Heart+Craft” is a generative art drop created by Snowfro and Lyall showcasing intricate heart shapes formed algorithmically. The price per NFT is 0.01 ETH, and the NFTs are minted on the Arbitrum blockchain. 

Notably, each NFT comes with step-by-step instructions for 3D printing, painting and assembling, thereby enabling owners to create physical heart sculptures. This emphasis on owner engagement and hands-on creativity adds an extra layer of significance to the artwork.

Sam Spratt’s ‘The Monument Game’ Sells for 420.69 ETH

Artist Sam Spratt just sold his innovative, collaborative NFT, “The Monument Game” for a whopping 420.69ETH, which, as of today, equates to just under $700,000 USD. According to Manifold, it was their largest auction result of 2023.

The artwork, which looks like a combination of Heironymous Bosch and Planet of the Apes, was created through the sale of 256 “Player” tickets that allowed holders to compete for three Skulls of Luci. They did this through co-creating stories within “The Monument Game” artwork over four days. 

The sale of the “Player” NFTs that began on Nifty Gateway on August 21st and ended on August 24th sold out in seconds.

FarmVille Creator Zynga Explores NFT Gaming with Ethereum-Based Sugartown

American game developer and FarmVille creator Zynga has announced its foray into the world of NFTs with Sugartown, a new game built on the Ethereum blockchain. According to sources, the game will be released soon and will be playable via web browsers.

The game’s narrative, teased with posts on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter), revolves around three farm animals who stumble upon a wormhole leading to the immersive digital realm of Sugartown. Along with the animals travel a few idiosyncratic creatures called Oras, whose colorful personalities turn Sugartown into a fun, gamified world.

Behind the scenes, the Oras are ERC-721 tokens, which count as proof of ownership and unlock entry into Sugartown. Players can stake their Oras to build up energy reserves and fuel gameplay across Sugartown's various activities, ultimately helping them earn rewards in Sugar, which is Sugartown’s in-game currency (and which is not a cryptocurrency). 

Sugartown’s accessible and fun use of NFT technology allows players to own and interact with in-game items. With this announcement, Zynga achieves the distinction of becoming one of the first major mobile game developers to craft a web3 game entirely from the ground up.
