Welcome to the OpenSea digest. Let’s look back through the biggest NFT and web3 news of the week.

MegaETH launches Terminal points system alongside token launch

MegaETH, an Ethereum L2 built to push transaction confirmation into the millisecond range, has introduced Terminal, a points system that tracks how users interact with apps running on its network, coinciding with its MEGA token launch on April 30.

The setup is deliberately constrained. Users can reportedly choose up to three apps per week, and points accrue only from real in-app activity, not transaction volume, wallet churn, or financial looping. The points cannot be transferred, which keeps them tied to observed usage inside the system.

The system assigns different point totals based on whether a user holds certain NFTs. For instance, Fluffle NFTs act as multipliers that increase the number of points earned from the same in-app actions. The Fluffle collection originated in a February 2025 mint and has since been incorporated into Terminal as a way to weight participation data.

Terminal's Season 1 runs from April 28 to June 23, launching alongside the MEGA token launch and a second wave of apps on April 30.

Meta pays its first creators in USDC

Meta has begun paying a limited group of Facebook and Instagram creators in USDC stablecoin, sending funds directly into crypto wallets on the Solana blockchain and Polygon blockchain.

The stablecoin in use, $USDC, is issued by Circle Internet Financial Ltd. as a digital form of the U.S. dollar that can move between apps and wallets like a transferable balance rather than a bank transfer.

The payments are processed through Stripe Inc. and settled on the Tempo blockchain. They are currently available only to creators in Colombia and the Philippines, where Meta is reportedly testing new payout methods tied to creator earnings. Supported wallets include MetaMask wallet and Phantom wallet, which act as digital storage tools for crypto balances and transactions.

Visa connects crypto wallets to payments network with WeFi partnership

Visa has partnered with onchain financial infrastructure company WeFi, led by former Tether CEO Reeve Collins, to enable stablecoin payments that can be spent anywhere Visa is accepted. The system reportedly uses self-custody wallets, meaning users keep control of their crypto assets rather than storing them on centralized exchanges.

The rollout will begin in selected regions across Europe, Asia and Latin America, expanding gradually as regulatory approvals and partnerships develop.

At the same time, Visa has expanded its stablecoin settlement pilot to nine blockchains by adding Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon and Tempo. The company said in its announcement that stablecoin payments on its blockchain networks have reached a $7 billion annualized settlement rate, up 50% from the previous quarter, as stablecoins become more integrated into payment flows that move money between banks, companies and digital wallets.

Betty returns as Deadfellaz CEO

Betty, co-founder of Deadfellaz NFT collection, has resumed her role as chief executive after previously stepping back from day-to-day leadership due to health issues, burnout and personal loss.

In a post on X, Betty said she remained connected to the project during her time away, while co-founder Psych continued work on product development, including “Dead Lucky,” a mobile blockchain-based dice strategy game in open testing.

Betty said the project now enters a new phase built around its existing community and in-development tools as she returns to the CEO role full time.

Telegram blockchain adds AI trading agents that can move crypto on their own

TON Tech Infrastructure Team, the developer group behind Telegram Messaging App’s blockchain, has launched AI agents that can execute transactions like transfers, swaps, and staking on the TON Blockchain Network.

The system reportedly lets users fund a dedicated wallet so the AI agent can manage set tasks such as trading or portfolio actions within preset limits, using what developers call “agentic wallets.”

The rollout arrives as developers across crypto exchanges and apps experiment with AI tools that can connect to trading accounts and execute market actions automatically, including recent efforts by crypto exchange Gemini and others in similar systems.

Maliha Abidi’s ‘The Joy of You’ premieres at Outernet London

Artist Maliha Abidi premiered her animated work “The Joy of You” at Outernet London, a large-scale public digital art venue in central London. The animation runs across immersive screens and uses moving imagery, color, and sound to explore identity during moments of personal transition.

Abidi said the work grew out of a period when she felt out of step with herself and returned to the idea of “why,” meaning the underlying reason someone begins a creative path or life goal. She described joy as a stabilizing reference point that can help people reconnect with their direction.

The piece is publicly accessible in London and is part of Abidi’s ongoing collaboration with Outernet, marking her fourth project with the venue.
