About Dave East
Through years of hard work and honing his craft, native New Yorker Dave East established himself as a force to be reckoned with, in the East Coast rap scene and beyond. East started his trajectory towards becoming a household name when he was selected as one of XXL Magazine’s “2016 Freshman Class” and subsequently delivered a show-stopping performance in the XXL Freshmen Cypher.
Following a successful 2016, during which East dropped his now classic album “Kairi Chanel” on Nas’s Mass Appeal record label, 2017 saw the Harlem artist release his inaugural Def Jam offering, PARANOIA: A True Story, which featured the likes of Nas, Jeezy, French Montana, Chris Brown & Wiz Khalifa and reached #1 on the iTunes album sales charts.
In 2019, East debuted his acting skills in the Netflix original movie, Beats, along with Emmy & Golden Globe-nominated actor Anthony Anderson and later starred as Method Man in the Hulu-original series Wu-Tang: An American Saga. He also released his critically and commercially acclaimed debut album, Survival, in conjunction with Def Jam & Mass Appeal. With over 1 Billion streams amassed to date, Dave East continues to transcend the boundaries of his musical journey.
The release of Karma 3 in 2020, brought us "Handsome," East’s most-streamed single as a solo-artist to date. As Dave returned to Season 2 of Wu-Tang: An American Saga in July of 2021, he released “HOFFA”, his first project produced entirely by one-producer, Harry Fraud. East is now busy recording his second official studio album for Def Jam, tentatively scheduled for Q2 2022. In the meantime, East isn’t slowing down, ever finding new ways to connect with his dedicated fanbase, East’s first NFT collection is slated to drop on November 29, 2021.
