'I will not let you steal music from me' was written after, you guessed it, a heartbreak. I will not let you steal music from me, The only source of breath I had, When you stole each and every one of them, With your soft lips and whispered promises, The soft caresses of your fingers, Against my side, my waist and my cheek, As you stared into my eyes with what I hoped was love.
I will not let you steal music from me, For it is my only solace, In a world full of pain and the heart full of troubles, But you tainted the sweet strums of guitars and the rasp of the words, With your memories and now, You stole music like you did my heart, And you broke them all. For you only wreck everything you touch, And destruction is attractive and my only weakness.

Vulnerability 1.0 is a collection that takes after my own suffering and pain as I went through my mental health journey. It is representative of finding solace in words that found its expression in my poetry. As the name suggests, vulnerability is a state of being extremely open to criticism and judgment from anyone and anything. I personally believe that being vulnerable requires a tremendous amount of courage and I see this as the first step to encouraging more people to do the same.
