Perfect atmospheric conditions for low fog at the Golden Gate Bridge do not happen every day, or even every month. When they do though, I always appreciate when it happens during sunrise. This particular morning, I was able to predict the exact spot where I could capture this perfect alignment-one of the rarest shots of this iconic landmark.
The Bridge…
Arguably the most significant (and photographed) bridge in the world. Over the course of the past dozen years, I have spent many days and nights exploring the light and landscape of this very dynamic landmark. Chasing the fog became an obsession - I would wake up in the middle of the night to listen for the faint haunting sounds of the fog horns - and upon hearing them head out into the night, only to return after the sun had risen.
She remains magnificent in her setting, and will always be the iconic symbol of San Francisco to the world.
