Oftentimes we don’t understand why our realities present us with pain, suffering, or destruction. This contrast in life can be the spark that incites change, setting us on a new journey more aligned with our deepest desires and who we are at the core of our being. Sometimes we have to strip off all of the layers of the past and fall apart in order to rise up into our highest selves. No matter how dark things can seem, there is always that glimmer of light peeking through the shadows; giving a spark of hope to keep going and trust in the unfolding. Today, on this equinox, we honor the balance of the light and the dark. We feel gratitude for the changes that come with the passing of time. For life comes at us in cycles of growth, harvest, death, and rebirth just as we see in nature. As the days get shorter and the nights grow longer, we descend into the darkness of the night. Facing our own inner darkness of the ego and the subconscious—we prepare for the birth of the Light within.
