Portrait of Tokyo (2024) is the 2024 edition of the series started in 2018, and is based on photographs provided by photographer mag, as in the 2022 edition.

This time, the work is a telephoto composition of skyscrapers in the Nishi-Shinjuku area, Shinjuku subcenter, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.

The landscape of Tokyo has changed dramatically over the past 20 years, with skyscrapers rising in Marunouchi, Bayside, the Roppongi area, Shibuya, and even areas that were once just bedroom communities in the suburbs.

However, for me, the skyscrapers of the Shinjuku subcenter and Tokyo Tower remain the symbols of Tokyo.

Portrait of Tokyo（2024）は2018年にスタートしたシリーズの2024年版です。2022年版に引き続き、フォトグラファーのmagさんに提供いただいた写真をベースにさせていただきました。

今回の作品は、東京都新宿区西新宿エリア、新宿副都心の超高層ビル群の望遠構図です。 この20年で東京の風景は大きく変貌し、丸の内やベイサイド、六本木エリアや渋谷、さらには郊外のベッドタウンに過ぎなかったエリアにも超高層ビルが立ち並びました。

しかし、私にとっては新宿副都心の超高層ビル群と東京タワーが、未だに東京の象徴で有り続けています。
