The population is distributed over approximately 33 villages. Most of them located in the Serra Morena Indigenous Land (4 villages), Aripuanã (9 villages), Aripuanã Park (7 villages) and Roosevelt (5 villages). These lands, located in the east of Rondônia and in the northwest of Mato Grosso, constitute the Park Indigenous Aripuanã, whose total surface, continuously demarcated, is 2,732.567 hectares. These lands are traditionally occupied by the Cinta Largas.

Ubajara Surui (1923 - 2019) sings the moment he was going to the confrontation, in which he was challenged to test his fighter spirit. Lyrics exalts himself as a warrior feared by all who do not flee from the fight. This story takes place in the Amazonian Forest in 1940. The First Contact of the Surui Paiter Indigenous People with the Western World was in 1969.
