The Herbert W. Franke VOICE GEM is produced by a memory gifted by Susanne Paech. A precious recording of Herbert W. Franke describing the falling walls between art and technology. Reeps100 (aka Harry Yeff) and Trung Bao have developed a voice-centred generative system of 200 000 particles, utilising data found in a human voice to synthesise the artworks form and colour. .

Reeps100 (Harry Yeff) and Trung Bao are two of the world's leading vocal experimentalists living today, both utilizing an almost inhuman vocal range. As artists they have collected hundreds of vocal techniques from around the world, with the aim of pushing the human voice as a medium of artistic, scientific and technological experimentation.

The VOICE GEMS series is a vibrant, unprecedented meditation highlighting the most remarkable, influential, and critically endangered voices on earth.

The colours and structure of the three gemstones are generated in real-time from human voice recordings and data. The project aims to become the world's leading voice and art archival project, celebrating an already powerful selection of voices creating a viable alternative to the traditional diamond.

Every voice is unique, and with that comes unique fingerprint-like meta-data that can be used for bespoke and human centred generative design.

Yeff’s lifelong collaborations with the world's leading voice artists and academics have shown him that voice is mankind’s most precious tool and one of nature's greatest achievements: it is the purest form of self-expression, predating even language. His multidisciplinary work encompassing AI, VR, and kineticism alongside brilliant technologists, engineers, technicians, and academics to actualize the artistic representation of voice has culminated in the VOICE GEMS series: a visually stunning way to inspire dialogues about value and humanity using new media.
