The inside out (2014) An exhibition showcasing paintings from the point of view which are often neglected by public. The paintings illustrate what the artist saw in life, a picture of busy city life, flowing of cultural diversity in a society in which he lives in. The artist believes that painting is a drawing from memory. It is constructed, modified, adjusted before being publicized, to present the attitude and perspective of that person. Sometimes, a memory is being distorted and misshaped. However, we are getting used to with those distortion and thus they become a myth in our lives. Then it becomes the reality. The artist picks up some unimportant things to retell in his manners as he wishes to bring you to see another side of reality, or at least a view towards a city he lives which he calls it a view from the ‘inside out’.
Inside out, Solo Exhibition by Anukun Hamala 4th April – 31st May 2014 at NHD Art Gallery, Chiang Mai, Thailand http://www.nokhookdesign.net/inside-out/
