Some stories are always unheard because no one really listens to them. They scream silently and die unruffled in the humdrum of these big cities. Kumortuli it was, a place where the DIVINE is made, created from mere dirt and soil. Yet in some "deliberately" unheard, unseen corner of a forgotten alley a story was screaming its existence - it had so much to offer, so much to share, but we are all busy, isn’t it ? I am no different. We all have miles to go before we sleep and however alluring the sight may be, we can’t stand still. But what we carry are memories and as a token of this unheard story I took this snap, to remind me to go back to places I left with a small remorse in my heart, to remind you all out there that even after travelling miles, it’s the milestones of hearts that we need to touch. Presenting - "By the Forgotten Door" - a snap from our very dear City of Love, Kolkata, from my most cherished collection PORTRAITS FROM THE STREETS.

About the Collection: Streets are not just by-lanes and quadrangles. A Street is a life in itself - rattling so many stories that it’s almost deafening. Not everyone hears those, not everyone has got an eye for it as well, but those who does, never could get over that. In silences and in bustles, in alleys to skyscrapers, streets are munificently baring themselves out for people like us to unfold their mystery. The more you excavate, the finer it gets. An amateur exploration, trying to capture some of the mysteries that I was offered on the streets I travelled. Capturing people has always been a hobby to me but now as I read their stories, it all makes much more sense. Presenting some of my all time favourite candid photographs for you to explore - "PORTRAITS FROM THE STREETS".
