In 2018 and 2019 I had an idea that my friends were like celestial bodies. Bright like the sun, angry and militant like Mars, flighty like Mercury, etc. And so I set out to do a painting series that paired a friend to a planet that I thought best described their personality. The eleven works of the series each contained dense textured layering which saw each piece transform from abstract work to planet, one pallet knife scrap at a time.

This piece is a 1/2 and is currently in the private collection of the artist. The original work is a mixed media and acrylic painting and is 47 x 47 inches square.
