Growing up watching Michael Jordan was like watching a real-life superhero.
For my first pair of Jordans, I got the dude at Footlocker tried to play me. My mom also tells the story, I said I wanted some Jordans, he came out with some other Nikes. (He thought I was too young to know). I had to let him know promptly those weren't J's.
I wanted them because I thought they would make me fly and dunk like him. I honestly thought I would be able to dunk after I put them on.
I'm pretty sure they made me jump higher and run faster.
This piece is in honor of everything MJ brought to the world. Not only his basketball dominance but his style and culture.
