By an absolutely mind-blowing coincidence, it seems like this sketchbook named itself. Here's how it happened:
I made a website, Randonym.com, to have a convenient web tool for giving random names to projects, items, etc. I've been using it to name my sketchbooks for this Extracts series, and the sketchbook containing this page had yet to be named. Usually it takes a couple rolls of the dice for me to find a name that I'd like to use.
So I pulled up the website, and in the initial list of 15 names, Frantisek popped up. And I said to myself, oh, perfect, I love Frantisek Kupka, I'll use that. Wouldn't it be funny if this is the same sketchbook where I did a very quick sketch of Kupka's Localization of Graphic Motifs II?
After naming this sketchbook, I flipped through it and discovered, holy shit! This is the sketchbook with that same sketch! Frantisek named itself!
Is this just mere coincidence? Spoiler alert: yes, it's really just coincidence, because I think it's always just coincidence. But it's such a wild coincidence, that, in the back of my mind, I can't help but to imagine that the spirit of Frantisek Kupka or the Universe zapped some bits on some Amazon cloud server hosting my AWS instance to make sure this happened.
Regardless of how unlikely these events were, it's just a coincidence. But it's the sort of coincidence that gives me pause.
