Damon Versaggi is a native New Yorker and self-taught cook with a passion for reducing food waste in this country and beyond. An artist first, Damon believes food waste can be resolved with simplicity and creativity. He launched Scrappy Meals as a passion project in 2016. Damon now hosts virtual events ranging from creative plate composition to interactive engagements with his culinary friends. He’s been covered by local and international news, invited to speak at sustainability conferences, and is currently developing new projects to focus on sustainability technologies. As a XR/VR/AR mixed media artist he is also using NFTs and other immersive technologies to spark a conversation about sustainability and efficiency in both food and technology.
