This Vault contains Chromie Squiggle #6052, one of 10,000 NFTs launched as a fixed set of uniquely generated images known as Chromie Squiggles (or ‘Squiggles’) on November 27, 2020 by Art Blocks. Squiggles code lives native to the blockchain; the structure provided through code, combined with the random outcomes produced by running that code, became the essence of what we now consider the generative art movement.

As of December 7th, 2022, 9,700/10,000 Squiggles have been minted. Public minting of the Chromie Squiggle is permanently paused and the remainder are in reserve for distribution at the discretion of artist and Artblocks founder, Snofro.

The release of Squiggles marked the genesis of Art Blocks, the premier generative art platform on which artists publish editions of unique generative artworks using creative code. Each Squiggle is unedited and generated at the time of its mint. While the vast majority of Squiggles are Standard, they can also appear in Slinky, Fuzzy, Ribbed, Bold, and Pipe forms.

Squiggles have since been elevated to ‘historic’ status within the NFT industry and have been honored by many other prominent projects including Moonbirds, VeeCon, and WAGMI United.
