The Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach is one of the most photographed trees in the world and the most recognisable attraction on the 17-Mile Drive, a scenic road in California. Monterey Cypress trees can live for up to 400 years and scientists believe this tree to be over 250 years old!

On February 14, 2019, the Lone Cypress tree succumbed to heavy winds and severe rain, and one of its three limbs snapped off. This photo was taken on November 28, 2018, making it one of the final documented images of this legendary tree in all its beauty. I was quite fortunate to capture this with such a lovely sunset backdrop.
