Reflecting my feelings and learning about myself through my art helps me grow. It allows me to gain perspective, offers an outlet for my emotions, and opens up the opportunity for people to connect with me. I am constantly looking for scenes that make me feel something and express my sentiment through my vision.


On this day, a rainy December night, I was riding my bicycle through Silver Lake when I passed this exceptional scenery. The rare California cold disappeared for a few seconds and a warm blissfulness overcame me while all I could picture was my grandma in Germany - sitting in her chair, doing her crossword puzzle, waiting for me to call and telling her all about my new life in Los Angeles.


Life can be hectic, things happen quickly around us, but there are people who will always stay the same and just want to hear our voices. “I should call” serves as a visual message to stay in touch with those we care about.
