Many people who are on a spiritual journey become cautious about moving forward, in great ways, because they do not wish to "fall into the ego". I want to address that today. The ego likes to feel that it is in charge. It is not a part of you that needs to be eradicated, but you need to understand it. He is simply selfish and needs to feel important, like a child. Because you are so focused on yourself, it naturally fuels the separation. He will seek separation by becoming more important than others and also separating you from the highest expression of your life, because he fears that he will no longer be important if you take great steps forward. He tries to dissuade you from taking those big steps forward through fear and doubt. The ego very much likes that everything stays the same and has a sense of control. You see? You are both in the ego (separation) in denying your dreams, and in having an inflated sense of identity. It can be useful to recognize that the ego can be a growth detector. If he is reacting with fear and doubt, you must be in something big and powerful. He wouldn't give a peep if it weren't so.
