Psychosis is a syndrome or group of symptoms. It is characterized by an impaired relationship with reality. On the other hand, schizophrenia is a severe disorder that may cause psychosis, but is also associated with other symptoms which may distort an individual’s behavior, movement, perception of reality and thought by disrupting their relations with social environments. People may experience personality changes and may lose their connection with reality from time to time.
