A trip of a lifetime.

Getting permits to camp here requires filling out a detailed 7 page form. If you're approved, you pay the park fees and have to attend a Zoom meeting with park staff for orientation. There are no roads into the park. Sat comms are mandatory.

Getting there is an adventure! We flew to the Yukon and our pilot picked us up for 6 hour drive to his float plane. The drive was beautiful, hills exploding in gold. We even saw a pack of wolves. We arrived at the lake and his son was waiting with the plane: a 1957 DHC-2 Beaver!

From there it was a 12 minute flight to their lodge, where we spent the night. The next morning we loaded the plane and embarked on the 1 hour flight into the park. It was stunning.

We landed at a glacier lake and got ready for the hike. It was a steep grind with very heavy packs, but eventually we arrived in mountain paradise to camp for a week. I'd never seen mountains like these before.

I may have left this place, but it has yet to leave me.
