What a moment it was to observe a mother whale and her calf exploring together in Disko Bay! Humpback whales, in particular, are known for their strong maternal bonds and close relationships with their calves. During the summer months, female humpback whales migrate to the cooler waters of Disko Bay to give birth and nurse their young. As the mother and calf explore together, you may see them diving, breaching, and slapping the water with their tails or pectoral fins. It's a truly awe-inspiring sight and I was fortunate to be there to capture that moment with my drone!
