Ka Series #6, Ka Series, 2018 (unique NFT). Lou Peralta https://www.louperalta.art
After more than 30 years as a portrait photographer, photographing thousands of people, I ask myself: “What is it I’m really portraying?” This series revealed new lines of research to me. Call it “Ka,” as in the Egyptian mythology, “conscience,” in the words of the psychologists, or “soul,” like some religions, I know now that what I was trying to portray was that living part, that vital energy that disappears when you die. In the search for that vital light, I try to make the “soul” visible.
