The 'What If' collection is inspired by the Marvel cartoon series ' What If?' just like Marvel, I ask the question: What if these popular female characters of our past were of a black African representation? Could they have helped to expand our view point from euro centricity to see the reality of a culturally diverse society? Would their cultural impact have aided to break down the barriers of common social stereotypes and quell the misconceptions of the black woman? Would their existence have fostered the empowerment, by seeing a positive self image to the minds of young black females to believe in the power of their own potential? The answers, remain, as ever, in the intrigue of imagination and the wishes of the heart.
