Nadina Gordimer's writing mainly dealt with issues related to moral and racial problems, especially in that period the current problem of apartheid in South Africa. Under that regime, her works such as Burger's Daughter and The July People were banned . She was an activist of the Anti-Partheid Movement , joining the African National Congress during the day the organization was banned, and advising Nelson Mandela on his famous 1964 defense speech at a trial that led to his life sentence.1
