About the Artist: Explorer Idee Montijo has been to the ocean's depths, the highest peaks, and the deepest jungles to bring you images from rarefied locales. Known for her published images of isolated Amazon tribes, underwater biomedical research, and sweeping African landscapes, Idee photo-documented pain rituals of Brazil's Amazonian Matis Tribe and is the first foreign woman to receive their authentic tribal tattoo.
