To get to Cheia village from Rametului gorges, Romania, we had to leave the car in Bradesti village and continue the journey on foot, for about two hours. Cheia village is almost deserted, only a few families live in it and have reconditioned the old abandoned wooden houses. After spending the evening around the fire and sleeping in a wooden house that was brought back to life by a local, we left early in the morning to catch the sunrise. The best place for this was the hill near the village. Once in the right place, we began to see the sun begin to awaken the sleeping forest. I was like a child in a candy store. Sunbeams, fog, spots of light, different colors … all changed in front of me from one second to the next. What a sunrise …
