Since I was a kid, I was always intrigued by kaleidoscopes. Approximately 30 years ago, I learned how to do stained-glass and ventured into making kaleidoscopes. I experimented with the mirrored angles to find some interesting results. When you place a camera lens to a kaleidoscope, it reflects what you see into multiples of views, usually into hexagons of many colors and shapes. These colors and shapes can be geometric or abstract depending on the setting of the picture you are taking. Kaleidoscope photography has become an addition to my creative efforts and current artwork. Before the paint is dry on a new painting, I am taking photos of the art to catch the uniqueness digitally. I also create photo sets that I take photos of to open up my creativity with unusual materials, reflections, and lights.
