Clemens Niewoehner's digital art consists of computer-generated collages.

Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky's abstract paintings, Clemens Niewoehner designed the paintings "Sampling compositions". Sampling is known from music. A new piece of music is created from different small pieces of music. In Clemens Niewoehner's "Sampling compositions" it looks like this: He designs, collects, and reassembles abstract elements into ever new images. As new items are added, the collection continues to grow. The changing, different coloring forms the second focal point in the design of the "sampling compositions". Infinitely many color variants of a single image are possible. These different color variations – identified by (e.g. Sampling_composition_054_colour_07) in the title – create changing sensations, feelings, and emotions in the viewer.
