Throughout our human trajectory on this Earth and in the face of so much technological advancement, one thing seems to have changed very little. The most basic unit of construction remains the brick. Whether made of clay, concrete, plastic from a pet bottle, rectangular, square, or irregular in shape, it will always be known as a brick. This image is symbolic and makes me think of how we humans struggle to overcome our difficulties over time. Feet stepping on a pile of bricks is like my way of saying I'm the boss here. However, that foot is dirty with mud, cement, and sand. Equally basic and necessary materials for construction. To subdue and overcome the challenges of this life, we often need to get dirty, but not let ourselves be dominated. There will always be piles and piles of bricks and equally mud, cement, and sand to build and rebuild our journey on this Earth.
