The second in a series of photo editions minted in 2023. This photo was taken on February 18th, 2021. I see myself as primarily a street (observational) photographer who spends a lot of time watching people and so, creatively, moving from jam packed Tokyo to sparsely populated Vancouver BC was challenging. I found myself spending a lot of time walking around in nature rather than on the streets and thinking about how my lens and visual perspective might translate to this new setting. This is my favorite of several "street portrait" style photos I took during that time.
