Contemporary Landscape by Fizz Pop, 2022 Digital paintings created with Photoshop & Async 'Blueprint'
Fizz Pop’s artistic practice has examined the relationship between Art & Technology for over two decades, producing static, digital paintings from layered Photoshop files. Planet 19.0 integrates one of these layered files with Async’s generative system to produce a master ‘Blueprint’, from which 300 verifiably unique planets are minted. The exploration of these imagined planets offer the viewer a moment to consider the interconnected global systems that exist today & reflect on our responsibilities as stewards of this Earth.
In 2001 Fizz extended a traditional painting practice to investigate digital processes. Using Photoshop & working within the traditions of Still Life & Landscape, Fizz developed a recognizable pop-up book style aesthetic, that combines painting & collage techniques. The resulting digital paintings, produced as limited edition prints, have been exhibited in New York, Vancouver & around North America. The first NFT’s were minted in 2021, under the pseudonym ‘Fizz Pop’, with significant collections developing on the platforms Foundation & hic et nunc.
