Hard-edged strokes and the delicate quality of newsprint define the aesthetic—relics of a bygone era and the halcyon days of pre-world war, bipartisan optimism. “We use our hands to gesture and communicate, and we use our eyes to understand things,” Woo says. “Mixing them together creates a kind of recipe for thought,” and a metaphor for human connection.
