Starved Rock State Park, Oglesby IL, St. Louis Canyon. This 50ft waterfall is tucked away in a corner of a deep canyon all but closed off by a large dune of sandstone. It has been closed for the last few years. It's one of those moments I thought I would always be able to capture and I consider myself fortunate for being able to have seen in at one of it's better flow rates.
I hike to satisfy wanderlust, to connect with the earth, and to escape life's many stresses and center myself. Every hike has something new to behold, even if I've been there several times before. Something I'm always searching for on my adventures is water. I feel like an adventure isn't complete until I have found the waterfall, or gotten my feet wet (sometimes more than just my feet).
