"Ephemeral" is a beat I made about 3 years ago during a time of deep depression. I was unemployed for over a year after getting fired from a job that tested my physical, mental, and emotional health. My unemployment benefits ran out and I was experiencing severe anxiety over the idea of going back to work at a 9-5. It was a bit of an existential crisis as I began to feel as though my career in non-profit education was going nowhere. The beat combines hip-hop drums with some EDM-inspired synths. It's dark and moody which represents how I was feeling during this period in my life.
