Bomb Story: Former pro skateboarder turned iconic skate artist Don Pendleton is perhaps best known for his contributions to the Alien Workshop legacy. Don was one of our favorite artists to collaborate with over the years because of how involved he was in working together and how prolific he was in offering concepts and submissions. We are grateful to Don for contributing this Adam to our library of official artist collaborations. | Background Story: Horizontal stripes, especially of the yarn-dyed variety, are a staple of The Hundreds' collection. Earlier on, they were derived from the surf knits and beachgoer patterns that graced the backs of Californians in the 1980s. Examples include Hang Ten, OP, Quiksilver, and Gotcha. In the following decade, independent skate brands and rave companies capitalized on stripes across boxy, baggy tops. Whether they're fatter stripes across neighborhood-sanctioned Charlie Browns or pinstripes across suiting or a baseball jersey, The Hundreds' stripes speak to a spectrum of subcultures.
