The images that comprise Crewdson’s series, Beneath the Roses (2003-2008), take place in the homes, streets, and forests of unnamed small towns. The photographs explore uncanny moments of contemplation within ordinary quotidien life. Made over the course of eight full scale productions spanning five years, with a full feature film-size cinematic crew, the pictures in this series are both epic in scale and intimate in scope, these visually breathtaking photographs blur the distinctions between cinema and photography, reality and fantasy, what has happened, and what is to come. The NFTs include a bundle of 10 items each, including the final artwork, and supporting process materials including 8 x 10 contact prints, black and white 8 x 10 Polaroid studies, production stills, design sketches, and other related ephemera.
