The different colors in the rainbow flag represent the diversity and shared values within the LGBTQI+ community.

We may differ in our sexuality and gender identities within the community but just as we are all different we all share the same desire to express ourselves, be accepted and to love who we love.

The rainbow flag was originally designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978, and since then has undergone several changes to the one more commonly recognised today, and more widely known as the “Pride Flag.”

Typically there are six colors with each color also representing a shared value or concept within the LGBTQI+ community.

Red: LIFE/LOVE Orange: HEALING/RESPECT Yellow: SUNLIGHT/FREEDOM Green: NATURE/TOLERANCE Blue: SERENITY/EQUALITY Purple: SPIRIT/PRIDE
