Louis Vuitton was a suitcase trendsetter. In 1858 Vuitton introduced his revolutionary stackable and waterproof rectangular chests to the market, where previously only rounded lid chests were available. It was a revolution in the world of storage and transportation, which defined the shape of luggage for the next 70 years, and was the first step towards today's suitcases.
