the shores have been shaded, vibrance stripped.

shading these coastal scenes have allowed me to once again see the beauty in my favorite location this state has to offer. these scenes are captured on a beach where my creativity has grown, my love for what we take for granted has blossomed, and my family's name has increased by two. memories have been cemented on this little island. I go back to my comfort zone in terms of this black and white style but at the same time forced myself to attempt scenes that were not in that same zone.

doing this allows the coastal subjects to be seen in a different light. a different shade. there is so much warmth and vibrance on our coasts, that shading them down allows us to really take in what we are seeing again. dramatizing what we find normal while walking down the shore.
