This is a line from John Poch's poem "Ship Rope". Enjoy it as its own poem, as an NFT, as an artwork, and feel free to combine it with anything you like, even other lines from this collection. Line “numbers” do not necessarily represent the lines in their authorial order.

Lines: My Poem Is Your Poem collection image

Three years ago, on a visit to the island of Ischia with his family, poet John Poch began writing the poem “Ship Rope”. He revised it over the next few years into its current form. A poem of 99 lines, each line is made to stand alone as a unit of meaning, perhaps a poem in and of itself. Verse is different from prose in that the poet decides to break or "turn" the line. Many poets believe the line is the most important aspect of a poem. The word comes from the Latin “linea” which means thread. One might think how the threads in a tapestry create patterns. Or how the woven threads in a rope make the cord stronger. This unique NFT project invites collectors to consider buying a single line, or more than one line to create their own poems made of multiple lines. These lines are similar to the dots of color that make up a Damien Hirst painting, but you create the image. The potential assembly into various forms mirrors the Tom Sachs rocket factory project. Poetry. Less is.
