We woke up at 3:30AM to catch a ferry at 5:00AM to drive three and a half hours, mostly up windy logging roads, to get to this trail. This is a very special and sensitive area as not even helicopters are allowed to land in the area. I have been to so many beautiful places in my life but, during larch season this place easily stands out in my top five. We were so lucky in getting some fresh snow, it contrasts so well with the mountains and the golden larches. We even saw some fresh grizzly bear tracks in the snow along the way, but luckily didn't encounter the bear. My heart was full on this hike and my soul free. To me the golden larches paired with the snow represent a change of seasons. The short Autumn we have here in Canada can quickly turn to Winter without a moments notice. This is what makes the elusive larch season so special.

Troposphere collection image

Troposphere is a culmination of some of my favorite work to date. I have spent 30 marvelous years on this planet. The troposphere is the lowest layer of the atmosphere. It provides us with life every single day and it's where all our weather phenomenon happen. As a landscape photographer this affects my work in a massive way. Low pressure systems bring in rain and clouds for those moody shots. High pressure systems bring clear skies, perfect for capturing the stars, northern lights and milky way. Clouds give us amazing contrasts, sunsets and sunrises. A big component of what separates good from great landscape photography is the weather and the conditions it brings. That is why I am forever grateful to be living here, during this era. Capturing the beauty the troposphere has to offer and sharing it with everyone is what inspires me every single day.

This collection is 16 pieces 1/1
