Basketball Landscapes is a collection of 100 photographs taken around the Philippines from 2012-2021. Basketball has been a huge part of Philippine culture since its introduction during the early 1900s American colonial period. From small remote island towns to large cities, these courts function both as public squares and spaces for recreation. This series paints a collective portrait of the Philippine landscape through the country’s most popular sport.

I took these photographs while traveling on assignment around the Philippines. As a tribute to emerging trends like geotags and vintage camera filters in the early 2010s, I decided to retain these settings on my phone throughout the years.
