This photo was taken at City Hall, in Downtown Los Angeles. People from the city gathered, stating their case as to why they believed Slauson and Crenshaw should be turned to “Nipsey Hussle Square”. As people spoke, you could hear the impact Nipsey truly had on each individual's life. On April 12th, 2019, there was a unanimous vote by the City Council to turn the infamous block of Slauson and Crenshaw, to “Nipsey Hussle Square”.

Out of the 33 selected 1/1s Documentary Photographs, 19 were created into hand-designed Polaroids.
Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom was not only a hiphop artist but also a pillar of philanthropy in South Los Angeles. He opened businesses, gave back, and created a safe space for creatives to collaborate and create. After the tragic passing of Nipsey Hussle on March 31st, 2019, there were events in the city of Los Angeles to help remember his legacy.
A few of those include:
- A memorial at The Marathon Clothing Store
- City Hall voting to turn Slauson/Crenshaw to “Nipsey Hussle Square”
- The mural of Nipsey, painted on Crete Academy’s basketball court
