Broken hearts and bullet wounds have a lot in common. They both hurt like hell and turn deadly often. I’ll go to war for love” I said, “I’ll swallow my pride. I’ll wear my heart on my chest instead of inside. They tried to tell me that I shouldn't do this.” I said I’ll love her till the day I die, swearing my love is ruthless. They told me wars are won only with bullets and steel. But my war is one to prove love real. So I marched toward the battlefield, my steps keeping time. The way we fell in love; to a rhythm and rhyme. I knew the risks I was taking and I knew the reward. But before you start fighting, remember all is fair in love and war.
"Burning Thoughts" is the debut poetry collection from Brendan North. Think of this as a book, deconstructed into individual pieces and collectively owned by an exclusive community. This collection of poems was created very much in the spirit of NFTs. Every piece is completely unique. Hand typed on a 1933 typewriter, torn, stained with coffee, and burned in the real world; the physical pieces no longer exist. All that is left is the digital presence of these words. Each poem corresponds to a photograph in Brendan's "Painted Poetry" collection.
