Black Sea Gypsies is my first documentary photography project, I spent a long time in this neighborhood in Samsun, the city where I live, and tried to talk about people's lives.

Hello, I am Engin Güneysu, I live in Istanbul Turkey and I am a documentary photographer. I usually take long trips and work on long-term documentary photography projects, I have various awards, including National Geographic.

Black Sea Gypsies were brought to Turkey Black Sea from Greece in 1924. Likewise, my family came to the Black Sea from Greece. Since I have met the people living here for a long time, it was not very difficult for me to make a project with them. I have been working on this project since 2006. I also won a national geographic turkey award with a photo I took in this project.
