Once upon a time, Istanbul was Istiklal Avenue. The heart of the city used to beat there. I took this double-exposure photo in 2012. A year later, Gezi protests took place. After the protests ended, I believe Istiklal lost slowly its soul over the years.

Istanbul is a unique and inspirational city for many artists, writers and photographers. Ara Guler, Bruno Barbey, Nikos Economopoulos, Alex Webb, and many other photographers.
This city that connects two continents is a love-hate paradox for most Istanbulites. For me, it's part of my soul. I've been living far from Istanbul for the last few years. It's not possible to share all of the photos and memories but these are when I think of Istanbul to come to my mind.
