The beauty of the unknown is something that intrigues me. The unexplored beauty of the frozen Baikal lake is one such place that deeply fascinates me. This picture was taken in late February at sunrise , somewhere in the middle of the frozen lake. The adventure of braving -20°C, and the wind speed of 30 kmph to take this picture makes it one of the most challenging photographs that I have ever taken. The first ray of sunshine hitting the rock giving it a golden glow and the methane bubble although made up of dead organic materials are so captivating and a perfect subject for the foreground.
