On the barricades that people set up on the Maidan, there was an icon of the Mother of God, which was also supposed to protect those who fought for freedom.
The Maidan that took place in 2013-2014 in Kyiv, Ukraine was a huge step towards freedom of independence. And for many days I was on the Maidan and filmed what was happening there. This is an incredible uplift and courage of Ukrainians. Many of these photographs have been exhibited in many countries. Some entered the book «#EuroMaidan – Rising for Freedom and Democracy in Ukraine», Brine Books Publishing, USA.
